Payback 2 – Everybody be cool, this is a robbery…
“Boys, I don’t mean to holler at ya. When this caper’s over – and I’m sure it’ll be a successful one – we’ll get down to the Hawaiian Islands, hell, I’ll roll and laugh with all of ya. You’ll find me a different character down there. Right now, it’s a matter of business…”
A sequel to the PC and PS3 downloadable co-op shooter Payday: The Heist comes a sequel that takes everything the original did and improves upon it to create a solid frame of teamwork and double-crossing.
Originally planned to be released as a downloadable game, the sheer scope of Overkills ideas, such as 30 or so heists with branching paths to more levels based on successes or failures and options to do every level with either stealth or all out action has led to a discount boxed release (£20-£25) on PC, PS3 and 360 this August.
Some of the more interesting points of the games are a variety of stat boosting masks, the ability to use loot gained from jobs to buy items to help on the next heist (drills for safes, codes for security shutters to prevent snipers, blueprints, etc) and the inclusion of four branching skill trees; ‘Mastermind’, ‘Enforcer’, ‘Technician’ and ‘Ghost’
Keep your eye out for this when it hits PC’s on the 13th August and 360 and PS3 on the 16th.
