Zelda Wii U May Not Be Traditional
An insight into the future Legend of Zelda game for Wii U suggests that the game may not be sticking to the same traditions set by previous games.
In an interview with 4Gamer, producer Eiji Aonuma talked about development of the new Legend of Zelda for Wii U and made comment in regards to developing the games and traditions they follow, stating in regards to the formula of Legend of Zelda, ‘why does it have to be traditional’ and ‘if we don’t change that, we can’t make something new’.
The Legend of Zelda games are often held in high regards as being great games, and it seems that the formula that each game contains works for the series. Personally though, as much as I enjoy the traditional game play and dungeon exploration of Zelda, I feel that a Zelda game that breaks away from traditions could turn out to be a great choice for the series.
Hopefully when more is announced and shown off in regards to a Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U, we will see if it will be sticking to traditions or breaking away from them, and whether or not that choice makes for a good game.
Do you think future Zelda games should break traditions? What would you change?
