Is Shantae & The Pirates Curse Coming To PS4/XB1?

It seems that Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse may be making its way to PS4 and XB1 if the PEGI rating board is to be correct. While no official word has been given yet by developer and publisher WayForward, it’s difficult to believe that PEGI would rate something for it then not to come out.

Shantae is one of those games I’ve heard of throughout the years but I lack knowledge in the series, but what I do know that the original game came out on the GameBoy Colour and has been a cult classic since. It seemly reviewed great on the original release but sadly didn’t sell all that well and it took over 10 years for that version of the game to resurface on modern consoles, the Nintendo 3DS virtual console. It did get a sequel before the re-release back in 2010 which again was well received by reviewers. This brings us to The Pirate’s Curse, which came out on the Wii U and 3DS last year.

The Pirate’s Curse follows the story from the previous games where you play as Shantae, a genie who has lost her magic. It’s a cute side scrolling action platformer which puzzles to keep you busy. The artwork hasn’t changed over the years all that much but that’s what gives the game its charm. I’ve heard great things about the series and recommend that you should try out the previous games and if and when this comes out for current console to pick it up.
