Crytek Announce A Free-To-Play Shooter Coming To The 360
Now with much of the latest shooter goings on centering around the big titles like Battlefield, Destiny, Ghosts and Titanfall filling up most of my FPS lookout radar, I was surprised to see news of a free-to-play shooter coming to the 360 next year.
Being the pro that I am (not) the first I heard about Warfare was Wednesday just past when a trailer caught my eye on Youtube.
Made by the guys at crytek, who helped make such games as the Crysis series and the upcoming Xbox One game Ryse a gorgeous spectacle to look at, Warfare looks to take pieces of other favored shooters on the market and make what looks like an awesome free-to-play game.
Phil Spencer of Microsoft had this to say.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Crytek to introduce this award-winning PC franchise to a console audience for the very first time.”
“Our relationship with one of the world’s most talented developers continues to grow, as we bring ‘Ryse: Son of Rome’ to Xbox One, and ‘Warface: 360 Edition’ to Xbox 360.”
Now while I don’t know the ins and outs on how “free” this game will be, I think we can be safe knowing that the word Micro-transactions shall feature somewhere right?
There is a PC beta going on right now if you want to try out the PC version of the game (sign up by clicking here)
