Titles coming to Xbox this week
Are you bored yet with that insanely huge library of games stacked on your hard drive? Got some spare cash and you need something to splurge it on?
Here is a snapshot of titles coming out this week for you to get to grips with. Kicking off With Planetbase on the 3rd of May and then closely followed by Prey, Bit Dungeon Plus, World to the West and Save the Ninja Plan on the 5th of May.
Planetbase is a strategy game where you guide a group of space settlers trying to establish an outpost on a remote planet.
In the game, you play the role of the base architect and manager, telling your colonists where to build the structures they will need to survive. You will have to ensure that they have a constant supply of oxygen, food and water to stay alive.
You will get them to collect energy, extract water, mine metal, grow food, manufacture bots, and build a fully self-sufficient base in a harsh environment, where you are always one step away from total failure. Even if the game is not intended to be a simulator, all the mechanics are plausible, and based on what the expected challenges of establishing a colony in a new planet would be.
Preorder Prey to receive the exclusive Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack, which includes the Yu family’s heirloom Margrave shotgun and tools to fight threats aboard Talos I: 3 Neuromods you can spend to acquire new abilities, 2 Medkits, a Fabrication plan to create Shotgun Ammo, a starter kit for building tools and weapons, and a unique upgrade to help you preserve your limited resources. In Prey, you awaken aboard Talos I, a space station orbiting the moon in the year 2032. You are the key subject of an experiment meant to alter humanity forever – but things have gone terribly wrong. The space station has been overrun by hostile aliens and you are now being hunted. As you dig into the dark secrets of Talos I and your own past, you must survive using the tools found on the station, your wits, weapons, and mind-bending abilities.
Bit Dungeon Plus
You and your beloved friend were captured by demons… You wake up what seems like hours, maybe even days later trapped in a prison cell, and your friend is missing. You find a sword in your cell and vow revenge against the beasts who took your friend – the quest to find your friend one and destroy the demons begins! Explore randomized dungeons and hack and slash your way through dangerous bosses. The difficultly increases as you become stronger and stronger. Build your character how you want with deadly passive abilities. Just like the classic quarter crunchers of old, if you die you lose everything and start all over. Can you make it to the end and save the day?
World to the West
A teleportation-mishap, a broken contract, a mysterious tree and a foolhardy expedition set the stage for our four heroes. Follow Lumina, Teri, Knaus and Clonington on a rip-roaring adventure full of twists and turns through the World to the West! A young Teslamancer, an optimistic underdog, a seasoned explorer and a strongman aristocrat out of his depth find themselves flung into an adventure none of them signed up for. In a land that holds secrets best left forgotten, the four heroes must use their unique abilities to find glory, get revenge, and for some, simply find a way home. The game is focused around, exploration, action and environmental puzzles, often with many different solutions, depending on the character you play and your ability to think creatively around their abilities. This adventure of fantastical science lets you play as four different and unique characters. The story is that of their tales, and the grand mystery of this lost land that shrouds an ancient danger.
Save the Ninja Clan
Save the Ninja Clan is a platformer for casual players as well as speed runners. There are two ways to play this game: play through the normal story mode or find secrets/”bugs” in the game to annoy the Game Manager watching.
Story: An evil ninja kidnapped your friends. You must collect scrolls to find your friends and save them. You will play as different ninjas as the journey progresses. Each ninja has a different ability: Green ninja has a double jump, Purple Ninja has a sprint, and the Grey Ninja has a dash (with temporary invincibility).
Alternate Story: You can annoy the “Game Manager” by finding secrets/”bugs” in the game. Eventually he will get tired of you breaking the current level and send you off to the next on.
So plenty coming to Xbox this week to keep us all busy. Set aside sometime and apologies to your wallet now.
