Take Command Of A Ship In Star Trek VR
Ubisoft announced a VR game during their press conference, a Star Trek VR game… Yip that’s right you and your friends can be the bridge crew on the USS Aegis. Finding a few friends who all have VR could be tricky but if you do then why would you not want to fly this spaceship?!
You will be part of the crew that is sent to explore uncharted space in search of a new Vulcan homeworld. So with that in mind and the look of the new ship, it takes part in the new time-line.
The game is developed exclusively for VR in which four players will take on the roles as Captain, Helm, Tactical and Engineer. It will use full-body avatars, hand-tracking and real-time lip-sync to give you that feel like you are actually on the bridge. You will be able to play the game solo while NPCs take place of the crew.
The gameplay video I watched, we saw cast from across the Star Trek TV shows and movies using the HTC Vive, which is one of the more expensive main stream VR kits available.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew is coming out this fall for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR. It’s such a waste that it will only be a VR game as I think the world is ready for another Bridge Commander game.
