PS4 game Deep Down will be Free to Play
One of the first games announced for the PS4, Deep Down, has been announced as a free to play game.
The announcement came over Twitter from Sony’s President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, who also announced that an open beta for the game is planned sometime around the launch of the PS4 in Japan, which should be about three months after the PS4 has arrived in Europe and North America.
Deep Down is a PS4 exclusive coming from Capcom using their new Panta Rhei engine. The game is set to have players battling their way through randomly generated dungeons fighting a range of monsters, but a twist comes in that even through what has been shown of on the game so far gives a fantasy setting, the game is set to take place in New York in the year 2094.
From what has been shown of Deep Down its both visually and in terms of game play looking great, even the better if its free. Although I could see why some people may be put of it if a load of items for money, or micro transactions, are offered. But with out knowing more details yet it seems like this could could put the game on more people radars and may be for the better.
What do you think to this PS4 exclusive so far? do you think free to play is a good idea?
