No Man’s Sky UK Release Date Moved Forward, Out August 10th Now
PlayStation UK announced on their Twitter that No Man’s Sky release date has been pushed forward to match the European release date of August 10th instead of the previous date of August 12th. People in the US will still get to play it a date early on the 9th of the same month.
Thank you for your feedback, we’ve been working with retailers and #NoMansSky will now launch on Aug 10th, the same as other EU countries

Not sure why it’s a staggered launch especially when the game is developed in the UK but we get it last. The only possibility is that they’re worried about the servers crashing out but as some people have mentioned, it gives people in the US a day’s head start to explore strange new worlds and to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before …
Ah well no matter, at least Sony and Hello Games are listening to the fans.
Oh and don’t give me this crap about “the Yanks will iron out any bugs in the servers”, we will still mostly likely get them, just not first. It will take the developers time to find and patch those bugs.
