Speedball 2 HD Comes To Steam

Bitmap Brothers classic title Speedball 2 is getting a HD release on Steam! The game will be getting developed by Vivid Games with Jon Hare and Mike Montgomery behind wheel, Mike Montgomery actually worked for the original developer Bitmap Brothers and Sensible Software, so I’m in high hopes that this will be an excellent title.

Speedball 2 for me was probably one of the best sports game released back on the Amiga, the game played extremely fast and bloody rough, plus when you throw in bonus points, and power ups it can make a real game changer. It was released back in 1990 and was praised how great it looked and how fast the game played, developers tried to rekindle the magic with some remakes but none of them every got the same respect as Bitmap Brothers original. Speedball 2 made its way on XBLA which I brought straight away and the happy memories flooded back, but has seemly be taken off the marketplace.

The remake has kept the classic top-down view but has added 330 players, new arenas, transfer market and the ability to create your very own Speedball team.

Speedball 2 HD is set for release on Steam on the 5th of December for £6.99 of your hard earned cash. So head to the Steam store and grab yourself a classic!

Ice Cream! Ice Cream! Very happy about this. I loved the recent Chaos Engine restoration. Gods next maybe?
