(PC) EA Offering Refunds On Origin Games
From today EA will now offer refunds for games bought on its Origin digital distribution service. Gamers will now be allowed to request a refund if they are unsatisfied with the game within certain time frames. These time frames are either within 24 hours of a game’s launch, seven days from date of purchase, or the first seven days after a games launch if pre-ordered. EA are calling this new service ‘The Origin Great Game Guarantee‘.
The service currently excludes 3rd party titles as this is being brought in by EA and other developers may not want or support such a thing. EA however have mentioned that they are looking to ‘expand the program over time’ so that perhaps 3rd party publishers and developers will be included at a later date. DLC is also currently excluded from the service.
Available from today, 20 countries will all have access to the service with more on the way. How useful the service will prove to be will be interesting to see.
Personally, I’ll probably never use such a service, I like to keep all of my games, digital or otherwise. What do you guys think? Will you benefit from it? Let us know in the comments!
