Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Musical Chest

Probably one of the things that has always stuck with me playing a Zelda game is when Link opens a chest and it plays that tune, even to this day when I open any kind on container I will do the wee chime in my head and sometimes out loud so I can look at the loot inside, and with my new hobby of Geocaching, that chime has gone off quite a few times now 😀

Well Nintendo has seen our fond love for this chime and has created a Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Special Edition which comes with a toy musical chest which makes that exact tone! Ok maybe not the exact chime, it has be cut down a bit but it’s close enough for any Zelda fan to go weak at the knees. UK gaming “specialist” store GAME has the Special Edition priced at £49.99 and have warned customers than once you make a pre-order you won’t be able to cancel it, this is due to being sent a code for ‘The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening DX’ which comes free with the Special Edition and kinda sucks as I’m interested in it but just recently brought Link’s Awakening for my 3DS! Damn you Nintendo why not SNES classic A Link to the Past which it shares the same overworld with.

If ya fancy seeing the chest from the Special Edition, Zelda director and producer has revealed it via Vine, a popular 8 second video thing on mobiles. Vine video posted below:

I do admit I kinda wish it was a lot bigger, maybe the size to fit a boxed game and not just the cart itself, I wouldn’t even mind paying more for it. I guess beggars can’t be choosers, plus I could always shell out £120 and get the Legend of Zelda Box Set with all the Collectors Edition Guides

Anyways as always tell us yer thoughts on this Special Edition, wish it was bigger? Getting it? If I can spare the pennies I’ll try and get it and do an unboxing 😉

I’m still fond of Ninty – did you buy yourself a 2DS?

I have the chime as my ring tone – but resisting buying the chest (even if it is the cutest thing ever)
