Why Soul Calibur 2 Is Not Heading To Wii U
Not to long ago Namco Bandai announced that their fighting game, Soul Calibur 2, would be getting a HD remake, with added online play, but once again its a game the Wii U is missing out on.
Namco Bandai has explained the reasons for it not coming to the Wii U though. In an interview with Examiner, the development team, Project Soul, spoke about how they do not have a favoritism for any particular console and that they would try any platform if their is a demand for it, ‘We have always been willing to try any platform if there is enough demand. Project Soul doesn’t have any attachment to a particular console; only the desire to achieve the greatest results possible for the platform chosen’. The reason for the lack of appearance on the Wii U then might be down to a lack of demand, or poor sales from the console.
Its a shame to see that Soul Calibur 2, the best game in the series in my opinion, is not working its way onto the Wii U, among many other games that have also missed the console. If it missing the console is down to poor sales though, hopefully with a price cut incoming and some great games on the way, such as Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Nintendo will start to turn those sales around and see less games missing the Wii U.
Soul Calibur 2 HD is heading to PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year. Who has played the original Soul Calibur 2 then? Wii U owners are you saddened by this news?
