Pokemon X & Y – Mega Evolution

It has been revealed that in the upcoming game certain Pokemon will have mega evolutions, and along with this news that their is a new Gym Leader that has the answer to these evolutions.

An example of a mega evolution would be Mega Mewtwo, a powerful evolution of an already powerful Pokemon.
It seems if you want to obtain these mega evolutions you will need to find mega stones hidden throughout the games region, Kalos, as well as the Pokemon you wish to evolve of course.
From what I gather their will be a specific stone for each Pokemon that can mega evolve.

The new gym leader, named Korrina, is said to hold the key to these mega evolutions. Her gym can be found in Shalour City which also holds the tower of mystery which might have something to do with these new evolutions.

One of these mega stones will be available for a limited time starting at launch along with a free Pokemon. The Blazikenite mega stone will be given with a special Torchic via the Nintendo Network, the Blazikenite can be used to get Blaziken’s mega evolution.

I always find new Pokemon and evolutions exciting, so these mega evolutions are a welcome addition for me and I can’t to try and get them all.

What do you guys think to them? Will you be trying to collect them all? Do you think they should have just been normal evolutions instead?

Thanks to Nintendo Life for the spot.
