Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow Out On The 3DS This Week
I know we don’t mention much Nintendo news, but it’s been hard due to a few of us selling up our Wii U and what not, but Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow has always been close to my heart as I was a huge fan of the games and cartoon when it was released. I was strictly a 151 Pokemon guy, so I never got in to the newer games but I did try.
Anyhow, later this week on the 27th, anyone who owns a Nintendo 3DS will be able to purchase the original Red, Blue and Yellow Pokemon games for £8.99 on the 3DS Virtual Console.
The digital release of the first generation Pokemon titles ties in with the 20th Anniversary of the series but Pokemon didn’t reach North America till 1998, and then another year after for Europe.
The games will allow trading via the local wireless tool so collecting all 150 Pokemon will still be possible, sadly I don’t think there will be a way to get Mew the 151st Pokemon, as it was only given away at tournaments, events or cheating.
If you fancy playing the original Pokemon, you will be able to download it from the 27th of February.
