3DS Update – StreetPass Relay

A recent update for the 3DS, version  6.2.0-12U to be specific, has been rolled out allowing people who use Street Pass to gain other peoples data without even being near their 3DS, by saving that data to Nintendo Zone Locations.

When people with Street Pass on walk by a Nintendo Zone their Street Pass data will be saved there, allowing the next person to walk by that zone to download that data to their 3DS and upload their own data, providing that is their not the first person to use that zone, or that its their own data that is saved there for the next person already. This should be good news for those that struggle to gain other peoples data, hopefully this will give a better chance at finding them from other people.

I know from personal experience that it can be hard to find other people Street Pass data if you live in an area that does not have many Street Pass users, so hopefully these Nintendo Zones will see some use and lead to adding many more Miis to peoples handhelds.

What do you guys think of this update to the 3DS? Do you receive many other peoples Street Pass Date?

Thanks to Nintendo Life for the spot.
