Nintendo will not develop for other Systems

Its confirmed today that at least for now you will not be seeing any of Nintendos IPs coming to any other console but their own.

In an interview wit CVG Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata, spoke about how bringing their own exclusive games to other platforms would not be good in the long term for the company, ‘if I was not concerned about the long-term future of Nintendo at all, it might make sense for us to provide our important franchises for other platforms, and then we might be able to gain some short-term profit’.

Although many have suggested that Nintendo should bring their games to other platforms, including Eidos life president Ian Livingstone, it seems Iwata thinks it will only benefit Nintendo itself in the short term, ‘I’m really responsible for the long-term future of Nintendo as well, so I would never think about providing our precious resources for other platforms at all’.

I think in the long time he is correct, the strongest part of the Wii U in my opinion at the moment is its exclusives, IPs like Legend of Zelda and Mario are very well know and popular. If Nintendo wishes to keep a console up then loosing its own exclusive games could be disastrous.

What do you guys think, should Nintendo bring its own games to other platforms? or are they better of staying on a Nintendo console?
