Nintendo Files Eternal Darkness Trademark

Fans of Eternal Darkness may have reason to be excited as Nintendo have filed a new trademark for 2002’s Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, as spotted by Siliconera.

The trademark includes the addition of downloadable electronic game programs and software, one guess is that it may be for  a re-release of  Sanity’s Requiem on Virtual Console, though this is just a thought. Nintendo has not commented on the trademark file.

For those of you looking for a squeal, a spiritual successor to the Eternal Darkness game is on Kickstarter, named Shadow of the Eternals. The game is being developed by  Precursor Games, a team lead by Denis Dyack, who originally lead the team of developers for Eternal Darkness, Silicon Knights.

Anyone want to see a re-release of Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem? Or are you more excited for the spiritual successor?
