Engineers …IN SPAAAAACE! *Ahem* Space Engineers now Early Access on Steam
Like sandbox games like Minecraft? Sure you do! Like er… ‘space’? Who doesn’t! Well what do you get if you mix them together in a big space pot? Oh, you’ve already got it from the post title. Ok. It’s Space Engineers.
Space Engineers (released on Steam Early Access today) by Keen Software House is a sandbox game about engineering, construction/maintenance of space stuff (ships and stations) and mining big Bruckheimer-esq asteroids. In addition the title includes “volumetric-based physics engine” meaning objects and ships you build behave like real world things – bringing all the fun of mass, inertia and velocity into play. Check out the video below to see how this works (and how it can all go so wrong so easily).
For more information on the game, head to the official site or check it out on Steam. Please be aware as with all Early Access games, Space Engineers is in it’s alpha stage of development and will undergo frequent optimizations.
I hope to bring you a review soon.
