Doom 3 BFG Edition could be great on the Wii U

Quake Con has started and its during one of the presentations that  John Carmack, id Software Technical Director, spoke a bit about the Wii U.

First reported on by Nintendo Life , during the presentation Carmack spoke about how the Wii U could be a great system for Doom 3 BFG edition, but that a lack of interest is preventing Doom 3 BFG for Wii U becoming a reality. It may be that this lack of interest may not just be referring to that Doom coming to the console, but also the lack of sales the console is having.

Carmack also stated that it looks like ID software won’t be developing for Wii U or the 3DS anytime soon. Its a shame since I feel that Doom 3 BFG edition, and indeed many other ID Software game, may have been a good edition to the console and may have even helped boost interest in it. I’m sure the controller pad may have been able to be put to good/inventive use within their games and ID Software also tend to make large single player portions to a game, and with the online play not being the strongest aspect of the Wii U, this would have been another advantage to having their games.

Would anyone like to have seen Doom 3 BFG edition make its way to the Wii U or any ID Software games for that matter?
