Activision Announce Guitar Hero Live, Set For Release Later This Year
I’ve always been more of a Guitar Hero Guy rather than a Rockband guy for some reason, so I was excited to hear that we would finally be getting a new Guitar Hero this Autumn.
Guitar Hero Live features a ton of new things not seen a Guitar Hero game before, but the stand out one is the look of it all.
The game will have a first-person point of view, where you are up on stage as the star of the show, and takes GH Live to the next level in terms of realism.
Also making the game feel a whole lot more real is the fact that you’re performing in a real band, in front of real crowds, who will dynamically react in real-time to how well or poorly you play. As you play through the game you will play a bunch of songs that span the changing musical landscape through a variety of venues, Starting from the smallest club stage in front of a hundred people, to the massive main stage of an outdoor festival in front of a hundred thousand people.
Secondly GH Live will also feature something called GHTV, the world’s first playable music video network.
GHTV is a 24-hour mode that will let gamers play along to a continually-updated collection of official music videos.
Gamers can pick from multiple channels and themed shows discovering new songs as they play, and can also choose songs to play on-demand.
You can also play with your friends in the same room and against players from around the world to see who has the highest score on a given song, while completing challenges along the way.
The game also sees a new controller, which looks way better than the horrid white plastic one with stickers on it back on GH 2.
The guys at Kinda Funny Games have done a great upload of them playing the game below, which is worth checking out if you want to see how the game plays, and also get a look at the new guitar.
Guitar Hero Live is set to release this Autumn on consoles, mobiles, and Tablets.
